“ The food was amazing, the experience was even more interesting and their staff are very friendly and helpful. We truly enjoyed our time and food. The place is cozy and fun. It was our first time having shabu-shabu dish and it was great. Our waiter was very kind and he helped us figuring out what to order and we were very happy with everything we ordered. Definitely check this place out! ”
“ We love this place and almost justify driving down from Anaheim to eat here! When we used to live closer, this was a regular stop. What do we love and why? Well for starters the service is friendly and attentive. The food is delicious, and the atmosphere is lively and fun. These are strange times so the service flow is adjusted slightly, but the overall experience still holds up! Choose your broth, your meat (with or without marinade) and you’re on your way. Add in optional spices to your broth and then the fun begins. I ordered the regular portion of brisket with no marinade. They bring a generous bowl of raw vegetables and tofu and the meat was plenty for me. The broth pictured is their spicy miso. ”
“ Mokkoji is hands down one of the best Shabu Shabu spots I’ve ever been to. The quality of the ingredients has been consistently amazing since they first opened, and I was thrilled to learn that they still have the original chefs crafting these incredible dishes. The servers are always friendly and attentive, ensuring a top-notch dining experience every time. Whether you’re a Shabu Shabu lover or simply enjoy great food, Mokkoji is a spot I’d wholeheartedly recommend to any food enthusiast. ”
“ One of the tastiest spot for Sukiyaki. I always have their spicy sukiyaki soup base with otoro fat belly meat. The meat is dipped with garlic, onions and sauce which makes it more tasteful. I also love their peanut and raw egg dipping sauces. The restaurant is a bit small for party more than 4; therefore, reservation is helpful. Try to avoid peak times as this place is popular in Irvine. ”
“ If you haven't tried their to-go hotpot yet, don't be afraid to. It's pretty good how they provide you with everything you need for a complete hotpot all while being able to add your own personal flair at home to up the experience. Albeit it is still pretty pricey. ”
“ We love Mokkoji! Definitely one of the best Shabu Shabu places in town, book a place online it’s always packed. We get the prime rib for two which is the perfect amount when we add our favorite scallops. All the food is fresh from the fish to the vegetables. Every time we come we can’t wait to come back. ”
“ pretty delicious food! their spicy concoction that they put into your sauces is surprisingly spicy so watch out. only have 1 man’s and 1 woman’s bathrooms though so it might be hard to get hold of during rush hours. oh right the chopsticks could be a bit better as some small pieces came off during dinner. ”
“ First time having Shabu and it was amazing. We had the brisket and the house meat as well. Both incredible. Great service and atmosphere. It gets really busy though so double check before you go and get on a list. ”
